What every 25 year old should know?
1. You are not getting any younger.
At 25, I think the first thing you need to know is that you have lived a tangible fraction of your life and there is no better time to get serious about your future than now. You spent a huge chunk of the last 25 years growing up, discovering the things you like and dislike, fooling around and making some very bad choices. Now is the time to stop all that and take your life more seriously because nobody else will do it for you.
2. Decisions are everything
We are all products of our choices and decisions. Any decision you make at this particular point in your life must be carefully reconsidered because it can make or break you. it can determine who you will be for the rest of your life, maybe you will end up living a fulfilled or miserable life.
3. It’s never too late to start over
You might have taken a wrong step already, a couple of bad decisions, maybe a bad career choice or you have discovered that you don't really like a lot of things you thought you like while growing up (we all have them). It’s never too late to hit the reset button, take a couple of steps back re-evaluate your choices, set new ones if necessary and get to work. Also remember, you don’t owe anybody an explanation for doing what is best for yourself.
4. Ask for help
One is too small a number to achieve greatness. You don't have to do it all by yourself. You need to surround yourself like-minded people, people who share similar goals and passion. Collaboration with these kind people will get you to your goals faster. We all need help one way or another and it is always good to know when to ask for help.
5. Take your health seriously:
Your health is one of your greatest assets, do not squander it. Eat healthy food, exercise regularly, get enough sleep and go for regular medical checkups. Avoid alcohol and smoking as much as possible, you can still enjoy your young adult life without those two. Everything you do has a cumulative effect on your health. Take health decisions your future self will be grateful for and more importantly don't get too busy to take care of yourself.
6. Invest in yourself:
Learn something new every now and then, read books, learn new skills, get a new hobby, take courses online. Increase your financial intelligence, learn to trade stocks and invest.
7. You got this.
No matter how confused you may be right now, the future may seem so unclear, I want you to know you have everything you can ever need within your grasp. You are enough, in fact you are more than enough. With right tools such as discipline and commitment, you will achieve greatness. You definitely got this.
